Same sex marriage photos Gold Coast.
Sonya contacted me from Sydney approximately six weeks before her and Claudia’s wedding day. She inquired about my affordable wedding photography packages, which I had advertised. As our conversation progressed, I realised that this was a same sex marriage, and it would be my first experience capturing such a celebration, shortly after the legalisation of same-sex marriages. I was filled with excitement! Having supported equal rights and being personally connected to the LGBTQ+ community through my gay brother, I had always felt the importance of inclusivity. Growing up in Tasmania, where being gay was not only considered socially unacceptable but also illegal, made this occasion even more significant.
From the outset, Sonya was easy to connect with, and photographing this same-sex couple was an absolute delight. I had previously assumed that capturing the love between two women would be easier than that between a man and a woman, but I never anticipated just how different and special it would feel. On the day of their wedding, Claudia and Sonya walked down the Burleigh Heads Path to their ceremony in John Laws Park, dressed in vibrant matching dresses. A friend played guitar as they made their way to the site where their marriage celebrant and guests eagerly awaited their arrival. The morning ceremony took place on a stunning early Autumn day on the Gold Coast, with around 50 colorful guests in attendance.
Following the heartfelt and entertaining ceremony led by celebrant Belinda Bailey, we ventured up Burleigh Hill for a group photo on the slope and explored the Burleigh Headland trail, seeking shade among the pandanus trees. After capturing those memorable same sex marriage photos, the wedding party and I descended upon the bustling Burleigh Beach for some quick, shoeless shots in the sun. We then proceeded to Justins Lane Pizzeria on the Gold Coast Highway in Burleigh Heads for the wedding reception. Although I only had two hours with this remarkable same-sex couple, it was abundantly clear that they would make the most of their special day, celebrating their love and commitment on the beautiful Gold Coast. The two hours we spent together were filled with laughter and joy.
Id like to reiterate that I love doing Same sex marriage photos Gold Coast
